Workspace settings

Configure your installation, personal preferences and installed extensions.

Open Settings to manage the installation and your own display preferences. General, Extensions and System administration use the host’s administrator permissions. Without an authentication plugin, preferences belong to the installation’s local operator. With authentication, each account has its own persisted preferences.

General

Administrators can change the workspace name, environment label and default time zone. Changes apply immediately and survive restarts. The workspace name appears in the sidebar and browser tab; non-local environments also display a banner throughout the workspace.

You can manage individual values through dsui.yaml:

settings:
  name: Analytics production
  environment: production
  timeZone: UTC

Allowed environments are local, development, staging and production. Use browser for the device’s time zone or an IANA time zone such as Europe/Warsaw. Configuration-managed fields are read-only in the UI. Removing a configured override restores the saved UI value or product default. Restart DSUI after changing deployment configuration.

Preferences

Time zone and clock preferences apply to supported shared timestamp displays. inherit follows the installation’s time zone; browser follows your device. Table density and SQL editor font size, wrapping and tab size apply to shared SDK components across adapters. Custom plugin interfaces may implement their own presentation. Save preferences to apply them; Reset defaults prepares the default values for review before saving.

Extensions

The extension inventory shows loaded, disabled and unavailable plugins and adapters. A plugin can explicitly contribute configuration links to Settings through the Plugin SDK. The host only shows those links when the plugin is loaded and the current account has the required permission. Plugin-specific validation, secrets and configuration remain owned by that plugin. Extension sources and loading remain managed through dsui.yaml.

System

Administrators can inspect the version, runtime, filesystem paths and connection encryption status. Download diagnostics exports versions and extension statuses, excluding credentials, configuration values and filesystem paths. It is not a backup of DSUI data.
