Setup

Connect to dbt Cloud with an API token.

Connect to a local dbt project when DSUI runs through the native or npx runtime.

Docker limitation

The official Docker image does not include a dbt runtime. If an adapter requires an executable or runtime, provide it in the image used to run DSUI.

The adapter polls recent Cloud runs and the local target/run_results.json artifact every minute. It emits typed dbt.run-failed, dbt.run-warning, and dbt.run-succeeded signals for results completed within the last five minutes. Cloud run IDs and local invocation IDs deduplicate repeated polls. Plugins can react with a job such as onSignals: ["dbt.run-failed"].
